Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the missile test-firing by Pakistan
April 15, 1999
- It is extremely regrettable that, following the test of missile-firing yesterday, Pakistan test-fired a missile again on April 15. This testing could be detrimental to the peace and stability of the region, and Japan requests Pakistan to immediately halt further missile test-firing.
- Japan urges Pakistan to seriously respond to the voice of the international community, which apprehends the nuclear arms and missile development race caused by the successive test-firing by India and Pakistan and sincerely expects the progress of dialogues and the alleviation of tensions between the two countries.
