Assassination of Paraguay's Vice President Argana

- The Government of Japan, in great shock and sadness, regards the assassination of Mr. Luis Maria Argana, Vice President of Paraguay, that occurred on March 23 in Asuncion, Paraguay, as an extremely contemptible act, and strongly condemns such an act.
- At the same time, the Government of Japan expresses its deepest condolences to the victims of this atrocity, their families and the people of Paraguay.
- The Government of Japan strongly hopes that this incident will not undermine the democracy that has been steadily developing in Paraguay.
